In 1987, Longo Associates was established in Northern California to provide clients with an innovative and pragmatic approach to Human Resource consulting with an emphasis on organization, executive search, technical recruitment and compensation.
The firm was established by Roger Longo who has substantial experience in human resource consulting acquired through prior affiliations with International consulting firms and private industry. As a seasoned consulting professional, Longo has the ability, experience and knowledge to assist established and emerging companies address organizational and human resource issues in a pragmatic manner with a keen sense for business issues and fundamentals. Longo Associates' approach to human resource consulting and recruitment assignments focuses on developing a thorough understanding of our client's needs and requirements and developing a custom approach. All assignments are confirmed in a written proposal/engagement letter.
Consulting assignments are established by providing a clear understanding of project objectives, work program, schedule, deliverables and professional fees.
Recruitment assignments are conducted in a proactive client focused manner to reach both passive and active candidates. Our approach utilizes:
Reviewing/screening our internal comprehensive data base of contacts (prospective candidates and sources);
Conducting tailored industry specific candidate identification research (to reach those individuals critical to the success of a search and generally not identifiable through conventional methods);
Sourcing Internet/Web data sources.
Longo Associates has the reputation of a confidential, discrete, thorough, and professional firm with significant client referrals and references. Each search assignment is designed to fit the client's specific requirements, objectives, budget, and time parameters. Our approach is designed to compliment internal client resources and management preferences.
Our experience indicates that clients typically select one of the following recruitment service modules:
Performance Search: The goal under this approach is to provide a stream of qualified candidates required to make a successful hiring decision. This service is candidate research/identification oriented with qualification reviews typically limited to telephone interviews and reference reviews.
Executive Search: Under this traditional approach, we function in a lead role in each step of the recruitment process with emphasis on candidate: identification, evaluation, presentation, selection, and negotiation to close.
Multiple Search: Clients retain us under a multiple search agreement for an extended period of time (i.e. 3-6 months) to provide comprehensive recruitment services for multiple positions...typically within a major functional area. We become an integral part of the client’s recruitment team, providing candidate flow, assessment, negotiations, recruitment coordination and continuity.
Our services are not limited to the options identified above and ultimately each assignment reflects unique client requirements and conditions.
Professional Fee Arrangements
Human Resource Consulting Fees – Professional fees are based on the work to be performed and the level of expertise required to complete the tasks identified in the work program. Progress bills are typically tied to the completion of project milestones and deliverables.
Recruiting Fees – Fees can be established as: a retainer plus a fee; a project fixed fee; percent of salary contingent upon a hire; or some combination approach (i.e., retainer plus a hiring bonus). For executive search assignment, fees are tied to the completion of project milestone (and not time). For example: a typical assignment will have a small retainer to launch the assignment, followed by two progress bills tied to the presentation of acceptable candidates and upon a hire.
